Best Gaming Laptop Deals on Amazon and FlipKart, [OCT 2023]

Are you planning to buy a Gaming laptop During the Great Indin sale from Amazon or the Big Billion Day sale from Flipkart? There are a large number of gaming laptops available, costing anywhere from 50K to up to 5 lakh. If you want to choose the Best Gaming Laptop deals from this sea of mediocre laptops, you are at the right place. We can help you find the best laptops, featuring the best (REAL) specs and the best bang for buck. let’s get right in…

Best Gaming Laptops

What Type of laptop is right for you?

Before getting into the best Gaming laptops, are you sure that a gaming laptop is the best for you? if yes, jump right into the suggestions, else do keep in mind. While gaming laptops are faster than a typical normal laptop in the same price range, as well as play games well, it is not the best option for all users.

If what you are looking for is a “powerful laptop for normal tasks, like Photoshop of basic video editing”, then you should probably go with a powerful thin and light laptop, which will deliver significantly better build quality, display quality, battery backup and portability. but, if the gaming section of the pros and cons outweighs the cons side, go with a gaming laptop.

Choose a Gaming Laptop

  • Heavy Gaming
  • Video editing
  • Any type of 3D workflow
  • Upgradability
  • want to build shoulder muscles

Probably Choose a thin and Light Laptop

  • casual gaming (GTA V/FIFA etc)
  • Watching Netflix, YouTube ETC
  • Good display needed
  • Portability and Battery Backup(daily commute etc.)
  • Better Build Quality

What should I check while Buying A Gaming Laptop?

Okay, now you are pretty sure that a gaming laptop will fit your use case the best. Let’s see what all the things should we keep in mind when buying a gaming laptop. This step is completely optional, If you don’t want to do all this nonsense, the list of best Laptops along with the use case is right below. However, if you want to know what you are buying, and what made as pick each laptop, stick to the flow.

Processor

The most important parts of a Gaming laptop will be its processor and GPU so it is essential to get the laptop with the best, or at least among the best processor. The entire process of selecting a good processor requires an entire post of its own, which we have already covered here. CPU Explained: How To Select The Best Processor.

In short, what we need is a good processor, with enough single-core and multicore performance, within a reasonable thermal and power limit. currently, with the 13th-gen Intel and 7th-gen AMD processors, Intel provides better performance on most price brackets, while AMD provides better battery backup and efficiency. we have included both in the list, depending on how well the laptop performs.

INTEL vs. AMD, which is better?

There is no right answer to that question for multiple reasons. performance and efficiency are both important, and the processor available for a specific price bracket may not be available in another price range for a different use case.
However, We can assure you that some things you must have heard, like (AMD overheats/AMD lasts longer/ intel overheats/intel lasts longer) are mostly baseless, as neither have such issues, even though they have their differences.

We have laptops with processors ranging from a sensible Ryzen 5 5600H to absolute behemoths like the i9 13980HX. for ease and simplification, we have provided the benchmarks of some of the most widely available processes under 1 lakh, which have been added to the list. Do keep in mind that the benchmark figures are approximate, and will change based on the laptop/performance settings.

Graphics Card

The other most important piece of hardware for any Gaming laptop is its Graphics card, the part which makes it a “Gaming” Laptop. GPU is not a general-purpose processor like the processor and is mainly good at rendering frames at an extremely high rate / rendering other media using dedicated media accelerators. The laptop GPU market is mainly dominated by Nvidia, and for good reason. the AMD counterparts generally show lower performance, while drawing a higher amount of power, and this is a significant reason why the list contains so few gaming laptops equipped with the RED GPUs.

As you can see, there is a pretty significant gap between the performance of 2050 and 3050 as well as between 3050 and 4050. Cards such as 1650,2050 and 6400M perform similarly, with less than 20% performance difference. which is the same for 4050 and 3060 as well as 3070ti and 4060. hence, due to the significant efficiency gains of the 4000 series, as well as the groundbreaking technology of frame generation (inserting intermediate frames using entirely AI-generated frames,

effectively increasing FPS up to 80%), the 4000 series offers significant advantages over its predecessors.

Also, be sure to check the TGP (Thermal graphics power of the GPU, since some OEMs, especially Acer and MSI ship laptops with very low TGPs in the Name of Gaming laptops, while they perform even worse than creator laptops, and have built quality worse than Gaming Laptops.)

Don’t Get the Wrong Graphics Card.

Notice how there is little to no difference between GTX 1650 and RTX 2050. that is because 2050 is a bad GPU as we get GOOD 3050 laptops for as low as 55K like the Ideapad, Never buy 2050 ( or 1650 for that matter, but at least it is 5-7K cheaper during sales). if you can get a good 3050, get a 3050, you’ll thank me later.

RAM and Storage

Probably the easiest category to choose from. even though there are two sections of DDR5 vs. DDR4 and PCIe 3.0 vs. PCIe 4.0, the differences are insignificant enough in the price ranges where both are still available, and most laptops have already migrated to DDR5 and PCIe, while the older gen laptops are available for cheap, making either one good.
we would suggest getting at least 16GB RAM for a gaming laptop in 2023 (unless of course, you plan to upgrade later). and 512 GB of SSD storage.

Display

Most people do look for the processor, GPU and RAM of the Laptop, but seldom do so with the display. because your interaction with the laptop will mostly be facilitated through the Display, A good Display is something you should look out for, provided there are laptops with good specs and displays (especially above 1L, where DELL, ASUS etc sometimes ship crappy FHD 250 nits displays, along with QHD 300/500 nits ones.)

this matters especially if you are a content creator, i.e. you want to do work such as Editing videos, 3D or game development. so if you fall into any of the above categories, do make sure, you get a good display. again, we already have a detailed post on that, which you can check out here: Displays Explained: How To Select The Best Display

Generally, Get an FHD, 250 nits SRGB (63%) 120-144hz display for under 1 L, some models like Lenovo LOQ have 350 nits displays, even though not great at colour accuracy. and get a QHD+ display with at least full sRGB coverage above 1L.

Build Quality

Build quality is something that you cannot know from looking at the specs, and won’t notice until you start using the laptop. The build quality of a laptop encompasses a large number of factors, such as the keyboard/trackpad usability, size, Deck flex, thermal design, lid rigidity etc. Thankfully, most modern laptops have good build quality, and it’s a matter of picking the best from the good. so you won’t be wrong, even if you did not choose the absolute best one.

Generally, Ideapad 2023 (AKA LOQ) can be considered the best gaming laptop in terms of overall build quality, as it is a nice complete package, with all the essentials correct. it has the best keyboard in the class, the display, deck etc. are sturdy enough, and the whole thing is cooled properly. Victus shares a similar story but with 2 key differences. Its speaker sounds much better, and its lid fares much worse. Nitro 5, and DELL G15 both fare well enough but don’t top any chart.

TUF is questionable, as it Does have a Metal lid in some models, But its keyboard, trackpad as well and plastic always felt less quality than the other laptops. MSI GF63 thin is another story altogether, failing in almost all categories, Calling itself a gaming laptop, despite being significantly slower, (like using 35W GPUs instead of 70+) and then fluking on build quality too.

Best Gaming Laptops from Great Indian and Big Billion Day Sales

Hey, this list is mostly Acer Nitro and Lenovo.

A good amount of this list is populated by Lenovo and Acer Laptops, but it is not any kind of partiality or selection. they just are better in their price range. Both HP and Asus charge a very high premium for their newer laptops, and the old ones that are on sale are not as good as the ones from the others.

Strix series gives you an i9 before they give a 4060, while the processor upgrade won’t be helpful for a vast majority of the users, compared to GPU. same with Some laptops that ship with 1080P displays for more than 1L.

there is no way one can suggest an FHD 4050 laptop when a QHD 3070ti laptop is available for cheaper.

Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3

The cheapest Gaming laptop on the list is the IdeaPad Gaming 3 2022 version with Ryzen 5 6600H and RTX 3050. even though gaming laptops start for as low as 50K during the sales, We strongly urge you to consider this model, as it is magnitudes better than GTX 1650/RTX 2050/RX 6600M, in the graphics front.

Processor: The Ryzen 5 6600H (which is the same as 7535HS) also offers a 10% performance improvement over the 5600H, while not as significant as the massive 30%+ improvement in GPU performance, is still impressive at the price range.

GPU: One of the cheapest Gaming laptops with a good RTX 3050 GPU. it won’t disappoint you and has about 20-40% performance gains over the now-old 2050/1650

RAM and storage: Possibly the only downside of the 8GB variant is the RAM. the included 8GB is a DDR5 4800mhz one, and, the extra slot can be equipped with an additional 8GB stick any time. the 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD has nothing to complain about.

Build quality and features: Gaming 3 is among the best laptops under 1L in terms of build quality, with a class-leading keyboard, large trackpad and solid hinges. Battery Life is good enough and better than intel variants in the same segment.

Verdict: If your budget is under 60K, this might be the best option, (the 16GB variant costs more, and hence is not this good in terms of value), and that too, without any major caveats. here is the 16GB variant, if you are interested.

Pros

  • Cheapest RTX 3050
  • Very good processor
  • good build quality

Cons

  • Nothing at this price range, so (nitpicking)
  • (Display could have been sRGB)
  • 8GB RAM.

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3

The next best laptop is also from the same family, although there are 2 good laptops in the 65-70K range. the reason for choosing this over the Dell G15 is the lower levels of heat, better build quality, lower price and generally better aesthetics.

The Dell G15 has a faster 12500H processor but only 8GB DDR5 RAM, if you are interested in that, check it out here, there is no one good processor in this range, so it’s your call.

Processor: The Intel i5 12450H is a solid processor, especially at this price range, showing a good 20ish percentage more performance than the 6600H(7535HS), which is more than enough to place it closer to the ryzen 7 5800H.

GPU: The 3050 is of the same TGP as the laptop before. so it is again a good package. the 16GB RAM will help it in games with higher quality visuals, which you would have to upgrade to get in the other laptop.

RAM and storage: The laptop has 16GB DDR4 3200mhz RAM. while it is nothing to complain about, DDR5 would have been nice, as other laptops in the price range have it. the 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD has nothing to complain about.

Build quality and features: Gaming 3 is among the best laptops under 1L in terms of build quality, with a class-leading keyboard, large trackpad and solid hinges. Battery Life is good enough, though slightly lower than the AMD variants of the same performance.

Verdict: If your budget sits around 65K, and can’t go to the nearest 4050 laptop, which costs a good 10k+ more. this is the best laptop you can get. also, it looks a lot like the legion, than previous Ideapads.

Pros

  • 16GB RAM
  • 3050 with 85W
  • fast and efficient processor
  • Very good build quality

Cons

  • could have been 2-3K less, as the 6600H version is cheaper

Acer Nitro V

The RTX 3050 has a good lead over the 1650 and 2050 as it was launched 2 years later, with pretty impressive performance gains. but that was 2 years ago. Nvidia launched the RTX 4050 with 6GB VRAM and DLSS 3.0 in 2023. The Acer Nitro V brings all the efficiency and performance advantages of RTX 4050, and the Intel 13th generation in a thin and modern form factor.

Processor: the i5 13420H provides roughly the same performance as a 12500H with lower power consumption, which makes it faster than the Ryzen 7 6800H. For 80K or lower, this is a good processor.

GPU: RTX 4050 and the features it brings to the table are among the main reasons that the laptop is on the list. The card provides RAW performance comparable to an RTX 3060, while consuming less power, as well as brings features such as frame generation, making it

RAM and storage: RAM and storage are plenty on this laptop, and you will certainly need 16GB if you need to use the full performance of the RTX 4050. So if you plan on buying the 8GB variant due to economic reasons, do upgrade to 16GB sooner or later.

Build quality and features: The build quality of the laptop is nothing to praise or complain about. It is quite a bit lighter though, weighing just over 2KGs, while the other laptops with lower performance in the range weigh more than 2.5KG.

Verdict: The best laptop for most gaming lap users under 90K, above which there are laptops with RTX 3070 ti and RTX 4060. check out the 8GB variant here.

Pros

  • Cheapest good RTX 4050
  • 13th gen i5 processor
  • thin (2.1KG vs 2.5KG+)
  • Good Battery Backup

Cons

  • No RGB
  • No sRGB Display

Acer Nitro 5

Acer nitro 5 is undoubtedly one of the best value-for-money laptops available during this sale. not only does it bring the 3070ti 8GB GPU, but a premium 165hz QHD sRGB display, which will take care of all your needs, either as a gamer or a content creator.

Processor: The Intel i7 12650H is an excellent processor, faring very well in benchmarks. In laptops with enough cooling, this processor can be a powerhouse, although, it comes with lower battery backup than the other processors from the Intel family.

GPU: The laptop comes with a 3070 ti, one of the fastest processors of last year, which was usually available for 1.5L and above. It is faster than the 4060, in the gaming department, and especially the hardware accelerators. if you want either of those, then the 3070 ti is the way to go.

RAM and storage: 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB of fast SSD would come in handy to install multiple AAA titles, which you would play in this behemoth.. but, they could have gone with DDR5 RAM, especially with these high-end laptops..

Build quality and features: Frankly, The laptop has average build quality when considering the other laptops in the price range, where OMENs and Predators are available. this laptop still has a much better display ( one of the reasons for choosing this over the 4060 models)

Verdict: If you are a gamer, then this must be the best laptop for you under 1 lakh currently, all things considered… a powerful processor and GPU combo, a stunning display and RGB to complete the gaming laptop look.

Pros

  • 3070 ti 130w
  • best display under 1.5L
  • 1TB SSD

Cons

  • DDR4 RAM
  • 4060 available in the same price

Acer Nitro 5

4060 vs 3070 ti

Even though the 3070 ti is faster in RAW performance when compared to the 4060, the 4060 is a better GPU overall, as it is more efficient, and has frame generation and DLSS 3.0.
The reason for choosing The Nitro 5 over Lenovo LOQ (with RTX 4060) is the display, as there is no real benefit to an 8GB 4060 if all it can run is 1080P 120Hz.
Most AAA games can be played without any issues on ULTRA graphics and 1440P in more than 80FPS, on either 4060 or 3070 TI. so a 1080P panel is just a waste of such a great GPU, with no real benefit to the user.

Lenovo Legion Slim 5

As we stated above, even though the 4060 is objectively better, the Legion 5 is on the list because of the need for a balanced laptop that is premium and performant at the same time. the laptop will have significantly better battery backup, thanks to the AMD processor and a 4060 GPU.

Processor: The Ryzen 7 7840HS is a very capable processor, giving a performance very similar to a Ryzen 9 7940HS or Intel i7 13700H. it’s highlight is the much better battery backup and performance on lower power.

GPU: 4060 is a very good card, having better performance compared to the RTX 3060, and comes close to a 3070, and slightly behind the Ti variant. but its trump card is the DLSS 3.0 which has lower power consumption, which will let the laptop run a lot cooler.

RAM and storage: The laptop has a higher speed 16 GB DDR5 RAM in dual channel mode, as well as 512GB SSD. it is a shame that it doesn’t come with 1TB SSD by default, especially since 1TB SSD costs less than 10K.

Build quality and features: The main advantage of the laptop is its impeccable build quality, with an RGB keyboard, 16-inch Displays, a very premium build and everything you would expect from a premium laptop, such as advanced Optimus.

Verdict: If you want a laptop that is both powerful, as well as premium, then look no further than the Legion Slim 5. moreover, there is a reason to turn on DLSS and Frame Gen in this QHD panel.

Why there is no 4070 Laptop

At this point, I’m probably breaking all the conventional knowledge, so let me also give proof. the proofs below are from the YouTube channel Jarrod’s Tech, which is one of the most trusted and in-depth testing channels for Gaming laptops.

RTX 4060 vs RTX 4070 – Worth Paying More for RTX 4070? {~15 % difference in performance }

RTX 4070 vs 3070 Ti – Is This a Joke? { ~ 5% difference in performance }

As you can clearly see, there is no real benefit to getting a 4060 from a 4070 (especially since the ones in India have lower quality than the legion with 4060, which gets almost all the features.)
