Buying guide
There are many factors that affect how useful or how great a certain laptop is for your specific needs, which might not be clear on the outside. With the amount of fake information that is spreading around the internet, and in offline shops, things might affect your decisions significantly, so we have included a short guide, that will help you choose what type of laptop will fit your needs. for an in-depth guide, please refer to this guide for buying a laptop
Processors
The processor or the CPU is the brain of your computer. This is a well-known and well-accepted fact that the faster processor, the faster and more responsive your laptop/computer/mobile phone/other devices. Choosing a processor is not easy, because it’s not just a matter of clock speed /core count etc. you need more cores and higher multicore performance, if you are a video editor, you need good integrated graphics if you want to game on the side, etc. We will add what you need to look for at the start for each laptop type. If you want to check on your own, about various processors, check NanoReview – tech comparison and ratings
Graphics Card
If you are a gamer or want to edit videos/render 3D simulations, A graphics card is a must. It gives a much better experience while gaming and even laptops as low as 60K provide pretty good graphics cards such as RTX 3050. Do remember, if you don’t exactly need a graphics card, just buy one with a GPU because there is a slight chance you might need it in the future, is not a good idea. At any price range, there are laptops that are thinner, more energy efficient, have the better build quality, etc, which might suit you far better than a laptop with a graphics card.
Display
The display is what you interact with the most on a laptop. you get laptops with all types of displays, from 13.3 inches to even 18 inches. you also have refresh rates from 60hz to a whopping 360hz, and so is the resolution, with budget laptops starting with 720p displays, and going up to 4K at the highest end. You can also choose from TN/LCD/OLED technologies, which all are better for different users. As a general rule of thumb, go with a high refresh rate display if you are a gamer( but the difference reduces as the Frame rate increases, after a point, it’s no longer substantial), if you are a regular office user, get a good display with ample brightness and resolution, for the lowest price, and if you are an artist, get a color calibrated Display such as the Asus Vivobook Pro’s OLED display
Build and Quality
No matter what type of user you are, or what type of laptop you need, build quality and other factors such as the wifi/Bluetooth cards used, Battery life, The port selection available and other quality-of-life features do matter to you. In the long run, that may even be more beneficial than having a much faster processor/GPU upfront. There is no easy selection in this category though, as we can only choose what has the most features we need.
For example, A MacBook Air has a very good battery backup, performance, build quality, an okayish camera, etc, but the port selection is very minimal, and even worse, if something happens to the Laptop, it would cost a fortune to repair, while a windows laptop could be repaired for a fraction of the cost. but windows laptops also provide inferior battery backup/build quality. build quality is a much more complex subject to quantitatively write down/rank or understand, we have only added those laptops that are okay or good for their cost.
The List of Best Laptops in India
Now that we are aware of the basic requirements and important factors that should be evaluated before choosing a laptop, we can see the available selection of good laptops for you to choose from. This List is not exhaustive, As offers may come and go frequently, or there might be laptops that are better suited for you and your specific niches. If you think there will be better alternatives for you in the market, do contact us through Whatsapp/telegram, etc through the link at the bottom of the post. so let’s begin.
Everyday Users/School Students
If you are a normal user, who just needs to have a laptop for office work, browsing the internet, or watching videos, and especially if your budget is low, like under 35k, then you need these kinds of laptops. usually, they are not the most powerful, or have the best build quality, but get the job done for a wide range of regular users, with less than half the amount of what a gaming/premium laptop costs. So, if you are a school student/office worker/ anyone who needs a laptop for general productivity, these will be awesome for you
Now, if we consider what specifically makes an everyday laptop great, It is pretty much simple. Enough storage and RAM ( 8/512 SSD is adequate, but 8/256 is also okay if you are on a tight budget.) and a fast enough processor ( really matters at the lower end of the spectrum) that can do these basic tasks without hanging, for at least 4 years. In terms of display, try to go with an FHD display at least, as it does make a difference. as we said, build quality is a much more complex topic to set a baseline, so we have only added those laptops that are okay or good for their cost.

College Students/Business Users/Power users
If you need more power than what is available for a normal laptop, you want better build quality, better display, keyboard, etc, and are willing to pay more for these features, typically from 45k to as much as 1 lakh, then these laptops ( commonly known as business laptops) are the laptops that you need. they are thin, more powerful, with better displays and build quality. they sometimes even come with high-performance H series processors, so that maximum performance can be delivered. they are also good enough for light gaming, video editing or photoshops, as the processors are pretty good.
If you are looking for such a laptop, the first thing you need to look for is the Display and build quality, as most laptops will come with at least a good amount of performance, and differences in performance will not be noticeable in most medium to light tasks. so, go for a laptop with a very good display, is thin, and provides good build quality. If your budget is above 55k, also try to buy a laptop with 16GB RAM, as changing RAM is impossible or difficult compared to gaming/normal laptops, due to their thin nature.

Gaming Enthusiasts/3D /Game Developers etc
If you are a gamer, then there is no question whatsoever, that you need a gaming laptop. they are thicker and heavier than normal laptops, but for a reason. This increased thickness and weight provides room for better thermal management and includes beefier cooling, as they have to deal with TDPs in the range of 120-170W, while normal laptops only need to deal with less than 40W. As they are the most powerful for a given price range, they are often the go-to choice for hardcore users.
However, please restrain yourself from getting one, if you don’t really have a use for the GPU. the lower battery backup, build quality and display. If you are a content creator, make sure that you get a color-calibrated (at least sRGB 100%) Display, or use an external one.
if you are looking for a gaming laptop, then the two most important factors that you need to check are the processor and the Graphics card. any 2022/23 H series processor, except the i5 11300H is good enough for a variety of workflows, so, go with the best processor that you get for the price. you can get a GTX 1650 for 50k, but just it is 4 yr old at this point, so if you can, add an extra and get an RTX 3050. If you are an esports gamer, get a high refresh rate display, but most gaming laptops come with one anyways.

Professional Content Creators/Artists
If you are a content creator/artist, who want accurate colors, ie, if you want the colors you use to be exactly the one you want, across different monitors and televisions, Display would be a more defining factor to you than even more powerful system. for those users, the best laptops will be the ones with DCI-P3 coverage, and high brightness, so that the colors are exactly the way you want it to be, regardless of the display. You might also need a powerful processor and optionally, an external GPU too. There are not many laptops that satisfy all these requirements, but there are a few ones that ALMOST take a home run.
If you are going for a creator laptop, then the most important thing you want is the best display, and a powerful processor, GPU, etc that can work fast enough to not waste your time. at least 300 nits (400 or more is ideal) of brightness, sRGB (DCI-p3 is ideal) color coverage is required, and the processor should be powerful enough to playback 4K videos and scrub through multiple timelines, fast enough.
