Specifications:
3D Rendering is a very hardware-intensive workload. Not only does it make the best out of the available CPU and Graphics card, but a good display and thermal efficiency are also important parts to keep in mind when buying a Laptop for 3D workflows. So lets First look at the hardware considerations. Mainly, there are 4 parts that should be on your list.
Processor:
The processor is Widely regarded as the brain of the computer. And one of the most important factors in the performance of the laptop. As we are dealing primarily with rendering and modelling, the largest impact a processor will have on your workflow will be on live playback. When the designs become complex, live playback will likely Struggle as the processor becomes weaker. This will result in Stutters and minute freezing. We have only added Ryzen 5800H and faster processors to this list, So live playback will not be an issue for the most part. If you are going to buy a laptop from outside the list, please refer to the processor Rank list, and go for a similarly powered processor.
On a side note, If you are going to buy a MacBook, then Live playback will not be a big issue, as the m1 pro/Max CPU is comparable with the latest Intel or Ryzen Laptops. But we wouldn’t recommend It as apart from live playback, the rendering will be quite low, and the price is quite higher than a comparable Windows laptop, even without the graphics card.
Graphics Card
The other important factor is the graphics card. the Rendering / Designing Cycles will get much faster if you have a graphics card. For example, if a render takes 7 minutes in CPU mode, most good GPUs will complete it in under 2 minutes. In this list, we have a single RTX3050 Card, if you are on the tightest Budget. Other than that, there are only Nvidia RTX cards, as they are much faster than non-RTX cards, and AMD video cards don’t have the best support from the normal software. 6GB is the ideal minimum in 2023, and hence most of the cards have 6 or 8GB VRAM. Check this list to compare performance between different TDP configurations.
Display
The display might be the most overlooked Feature on a laptop, mobile phone or PC. A good display can make more difference than a much better-performing device in many scenarios. In this list, we have only added displays with at least sRGB 100% colour Gamut ( colour gamut is the coverage of colours of the entire colour spectrum visible to the human eye if you want to learn more check out the Display Guide. )
Refresh rate is not the most important feature for an architect, but as most of these laptops are also catered to gaming enthusiasts, they have very high refresh rates. The resolution is also quite good. and if your budget can get you a quad HD display, then get them as the sharpness will improve noticeably.
RAM and Storage
The latest Ryzen 6000 and Intel 12th gen processors both support DDR5 ram and PCLe 4.0 storage. these will improve the performance of the laptop quite a bit. ( although they are not linearly dependent), and the other laptops all have DDR4 RAM and PCLe 3.0 SSDs are also good. 16GB is a minimum for most heavy users, especially in 3D modelling. 16GB will be enough for most people. Although, if you want to increase the RAM or SSD, it can be easily increased with provided expansion slots.
The best Laptops for 3D modelling/Rendering
1. HP Victus (Ryzen 7 5800H RTX 3050)
The cheapest Laptop in this list is the Hp Victus, with a powerful Ryzen 7 5800H. Even though the RTX 3050 is not the most ideal GPU, it comes with a very good display, at a much lower price tag. The next laptop with a good display costs 40K more. The laptop is packed with a very good display, excellent speakers, and a keyboard. The only issue with the laptop is the wobbling display. if you are okay to look over the issue, then this is the best laptop under the best laptop.

2. Asus TUF A15 ( Ryzen 9 5950x, RTX 3060)
The issue with the Victus is its 4GB VRAM, the cheapest laptop with RTX 3060 and 6GB VRAM. even though it is not as powerful as the 130W TDP versions of the same card, they perform much better than the RTX 3050, thanks to the 6GB VRAM. The addition of the Ryzen 9 5950X, makes it the fastest laptop under 1 lakh. But this is the worst build quality in any gaming laptop above 60K. the only laptop in this list with a 250 nits panel with no sRGB coverage. The build quality is not the best in the segment either. Still, if what you seek is performance, then this is a laptop under 1 lakh.

The HP Victus has both the performance and the quality you would expect from a high-end gaming laptop. this is the cheapest gaming laptop with a QHD display, and along with the GPU that is not starved unlike in the case of the TUF A15. All these, along with all the good factors of the Victus series including the excellent display and build quality, they are the Cheapest all-rounder laptop. The negative of the laptop is also common across all Victus series laptops, which is the high wobbling issues. It still might not be an issue that makes it undesirable.

If you want a more premium laptop, that not only has no drawbacks but also provides more of a premium experience, then it is the Lenovo Legion might be for you. Although it is very good, it now sports a year old hardware now ( which is insignificant in the budget segment, but as we move towards premium, we expect the latest hardware). But the top-notch build quality, premium design and high TDP make it faster than the cheaper HP Victus. The large array of Ports in the Back of the body makes it more utilitarian and less cluttered.

5. MSI GP66 Leopard
The cheapest Gaming laptop with RTX 3070 8GB VRAM and a good 140W TDP. But as a downside, they come with an intel i7 11800H processor, which is not as efficient as the ryzen counterparts, and the display, although has very fast refresh rates, is only FHD. But it makes it a much better gaming laptop than the other laptops on the list. So if you want a gaming laptop for gaming ( especially eSports games like Valorant, CS-Go etc), these excellent laptops are for you. This laptop is not as premium built as the legion or the Strix. so unless you will benefit highly from the 3070, go with the other laptops.

7. ROG Strix G15 (Ryzen 7 6800H, RTX 3060)
Even though there are laptops with the i7 12700H ( which performs better than even 6800H) and cheaper, most of them are ASUS TUF or MSI Leapords that provide mediocre display and build qualities, which makes them not the best choice for someone who cares for colour accuracy. The 6th gen Ryzen 7 processor along with a new and fast DDR5 and PCIe 4.0 RAM and SSD technologies are faster, more energy efficient and future-proof than every other laptop in this list.
In terms of the Build quality and Display, Strix is known for its quality and their aura RGBat the bottom of the chassis. it also has the best display with a 500 nits display with a much larger DCI-P3 Display, keyboard and trackpads are also good, even if not as good as the legion. all these performances and the Fast SSD make them good Laptops for Gaming as well as 3D workflows.

The last laptop on the list, before manufacturers throw value for money out of the window is the HP Omen. It is the Fastest Laptop in the list, and although it is not as well built as the Strix or the legion, it is much better than the TUF, MSI and even the HP Victus, and also has a good Display. 115W might not be the highest that the RTX 3070 might have benefitted, but it is still good, considering the enormous performance improvement in the processor department. it also has a very large trackpad and a very good keyboard to top off the already premium Laptop.
